It’s not “just hair”…

Not even close.

How many times have I heard, "oh it's JUST hair..it will grow back"?? And yet- there's absolutely NOT ONE person in 23 years of being in the salon business that i've met who didn't care even a little bit about their hair.

From the 3 year old little girls who got their first blow out to the 95 year old women who got their last, to the men working to save their last bit of tufts or the teens chopping off the locks their parents made them grow out, to the people on chemo with only a few strands left, or the ones who can barely afford to maintain their styles and don't forget - the ladies who come in for a weekly shampoo and curl set - ALL deeply care about their hair. And, definitely don't say, "it's JUST hair", to the ones who are growing their hair out after a godawful haircut!

Hair is an identity; it's self expression at it's essence.

Each color, length, texture and style has it's own associations. Culture has given a persona to the blondes, pinks, reds, brunettes and grays. There's NO color we don't subconsciously make an assessment on, no style that doesn't evoke emotion. i've made hundreds of thousands of dollars knowing that a specific shape and hair tone mean SO much more than “JUST hair.”
